The Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG W124 represents the pinnacle of an era when Mercedes-Benz engineering excellence met the craftsmanship of AMG, then still an independent company. Its story begins with the legendary 500E, developed jointly by Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to create the ultimate high-performance sports saloon of the early 1990s. Built through a unique manufacturing process involving both Sindelfingen and Zuffenhausen, the 500E (renamed E500 in 1993) became the foundation for an even more exclusive evolution: the E60 AMG. Thanks to the prestigious **AMG Technik Package 957**, the M119 V8 engine was enlarged from 4,973 cc to 5,956 cc, increasing output to 381 hp and 580 Nm of torque. This factory option code, recorded on the original production data card, is today the definitive feature that distinguishes a genuine factory-built E60 AMG from the many 500E/E500 models later converted by AMG or independent specialists. Produced between 1993 and 1995 in approximately 130 examples (estimates generally ranging between 100 and 150 cars), the E60 AMG is now regarded as one of the rarest and most sought-after Mercedes models of the pre-merger AMG era. It perfectly embodies the transition from the hand-built AMG cars of the 1980s to the officially integrated Mercedes-AMG models, while retaining the exclusivity and authenticity that make it a true collector's piece.

The example offered here is a Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG first registered in December 1994 and one of the very few W124s factory-equipped with the highly desirable **AMG Technik Package 957**, as confirmed by its original purchase invoice. Finished in timeless **Black (040U)** over **Anthracite leather (271A)**, it features a discreet and elegant specification that perfectly reflects the understated "sleeper" character of this exceptional sports saloon.
Its extensive factory equipment includes an electric sliding sunroof, electrically adjustable heated front seats with memory, an electric rear sun-blind, Alpine CD changer, along with numerous comfort and safety features, the most important and looked after being the „AMG technik Package“, making this a true factory E60.
Delivered new by the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Hamburg in November 1994, this E60 AMG remained for many years in the ownership of a German businessman and politician. Throughout its life, it has remained between Cologne and Hamburg, and has always been maintained by marque specialists and AMG themselves.
Over the last 10 years, this E60 AMG underwent a comprehensive restoration carried out directly by AMG with a complete engine rebuild in. Combined with its fully documented service history, this work allows the car to be presented today in outstanding mechanical and cosmetic condition, faithful to the manufacturer's original standards.
Accompanied by an extensive file of invoices, documentation, owner's manuals, and a complete history file, this Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG possesses every attribute sought by the most discerning collectors. Its documented provenance, limited ownership history, exceptional maintenance record, and partial restoration performed by AMG make it a particularly desirable example. At a time when genuine factory-built E60 AMGs equipped with the original Technik Package 957 have become exceptionally difficult to find, this represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive and iconic AMG saloons ever produced—ready to take pride of place in a distinguished collection or to be enjoyed on the road with complete confidence. The final steps of the restoration of this incredibly special car are currently being completed in our in-house specialized workshop and will of course be detailed upon request for any interested buyer.

The car can be viewed by appointment, either in person or virtually, at our showroom. A detailed video presentation and a digitalized copy of the complete history file are available upon request and will be provided with pleasure.
